The Liver is called the powerhouse of the body.  Its main function is to cleanse the entire blood stream and detoxify the same. It produces cholesterol, hormones and produces bile salt that stored in the gall bladder. It filters the toxic substance in the blood and also helps in the storage of vitamin and minerals such as A, D, K and B12


The function of the liver hampered if a person eats the wrong food, drink too much alcohol or use a lot of chemicals. It controls the metabolism. The immunity of the body depends on its proper functioning.

If a liver does not function properly death may occur. It has the capability of regrowing dead or damaged cells/tissues. It is also capable of producing bile. Bile regulates digestion by breaking up the fat into small pieces so  that they can be absorbed by the intestines easily.

If you are on a diet to make your liver healthy then it is recommended to avoid red meat, fried food, salty food.  Food that contains artificial sugar are high in toxic and affect negatively.  Drink plenty of water to remove toxins from the blood. Eat food that contains high fibre like grain or low saturated fat and sugar. Also fish is rich in protein and green leafy salads that don't contain fatty dressings.
